WORKSHOP
Between anvil, lathe and the noise of the city.
I don't forge jewellery. I build machines you wear on your body. Steel, iron, titanium, brass — taken from scrap, returned as weight. No shine, no politeness. Only the material and the hand.
Since 2009, AXEL RING has worked in a former machine factory in Neukölln. Between anvil, lathe and welding torch, rings, chains and objects emerge from what the city discards: structural steel, axles, cogs, armour plate.
The style is industrial and uncompromising — closer to mechanical engineering than to goldsmithing. And yet: every piece gets worn, gets warm, becomes individual through the person who wears it.
